Less than one week after hosting the monthly iCare Foundation food support program where hundreds of indigent residents of Ikorodu Division benefited, Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defence, Rep Babajimi Adegoke Benson has again facilitated another food palliative support for his constituents.
Yesterday’s food support outreach was organized in collaboration with Noella Foundation, a reputable humanitarian Non-governmental organization to further reduce hunger among Ikorodu Division residents.
To demonstrate the volume of food support prepared for the beneficiaries, Noella Foundation and the Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker chose the expansive Ikorodu Musical Village for the food distribution exercise.
Thousands of beneficiaries drawn across Ikorodu Division communities and wards, irrespective of social, political, tribal or religious affiliations benefitted from the food outreach.
Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola, Coordinator of the iCare Foundation in a chat, reiterated the iCare Foundation’s dedication to putting smiles on the faces of the good people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
‘We are always creating new partnerships with organizations that prioritize the welfare of Ikorodu residents. The Noella Foundation has a commendable track record nationwide, and we wanted to extend their impact to the people of Ikorodu. We have previously collaborated with the Lagos State government during the End SARS protests, leveraging our Food Bank, known as Apo Anu, to distribute food to the people of Ikorodu. Our monthly food program consistently supports 500 needy individuals in Ikorodu, and our partners appreciate the efficiency and reliability of our operations’, he said.
One of the beneficiaries of the food support, Mrs Yetunde Taiwo, a beneficiary of the expressed gratitude to Rep Benson and Noella Foundation for the support.
‘I’m not going to go hungry; it’s been a while since I’ve eaten yam. Today, I will have yam thanks to everyone who facilitated this’.
Another beneficiary also shared their appreciation: “I am truly grateful to the foundations. This support could sustain my family for a month.”
The collaborative effort between the iCare Foundation and Noella Foundation underscores their dedication to alleviating food insecurity and supporting the welfare of the community in Ikorodu.
