REPS WOMEN AFFAIRS CHAIR, HON. KAFILAT OGBARA FLAGS-OFF CONSTRUCTION OF REMO DIVISIONAL HIGH SCHOOL INNER ROADS, IN HONOUR OF LATE HOUSE OF REPS DEPUTY WHIP, HON. ORIYOMI ONANUGA

Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu Old Students’ Association RDHS-OSA has performed the official flagg-off ceremony of the construction of a network of internal roads within the foremost school on Saturday.

The project, according to the President of the association, Abiodun Adesanya was conceived as a way of immortalizing one of the past Presidents-General of the association, Late Hon Oriyomi Onanuga, who until her death was the Deputy Whip of the House of Reps.

Speaking on the significance of the project, Adesanya noted that Onanuga, who represented Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North at the Federal House of Reps had committed to the construction of the road as a way of giving back to her alma mater, until her sudden demise in January.

He further disclosed that the association, through its National Executive Council in appreciation of Onanuga has decided to continue with the project to immortalize her good deeds and contributions towards the development of the school and the association in general.

Speaking at the formal flag-off ceremony, Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, who performed the official flag-off of the road commended the group for deeming it fit to celebrate the memory of Onanuga, who she described as a sister and former colleague, Onanuga.

Ogbara in her brief remarks described Late Onanuga as a Parliamentarian per excellence, hardworking and diligent woman who will be sorely missed by my humble self and the entire leadership of the House.

‘Hon. Oriyomi Onanuga was a Parliamentarian per excellence, hardworking and diligent woman. My humble self and the entire leadership of the House will really miss her’.

Ogbara concluded by commiserating with the leadership of the Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu Old Students’ Association, the good people of Sagamu / Ikenne / Remo Federal Constituency and the entire people of Ogun State on the demise of the late federal lawmaker.

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who also graced the event, lauded the Remo Divisional High School for their contributions towards the development of the school infrastructure.

Arigbabu later commissioned the newly built school perimeter fence sponsored by the association, describing it as a welcome development, towards providing a secured learning environment for the students.

Recall that, Late Hon. Oriyomi Onanuga, Deputy Whip of the House died on 15th January after a brief illness.
