Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has commissioned IKD 106.1FM, a new community radio, owned by Hon Babajimi Benson, member representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Reps.
In his brief remarks, shortly after the commissioning while featuring as a special guest on a live programme, Governor Sanwoolu noted that, the media serves as a strategic interface between the government and the citizens, expressing hope that the new community radio would live up to the task.
He also noted that the commissioning of the radio station would open more progressive doors to Ikorodu division thereby making it a division to reckon with in Lagos State.
Gov Sanwoolu who spoke in Pidgin English, Yoruba and English Languages also thanked the good people of Ikorodu division for their support since his emergence as Lagos State Governor.
The governor was accompanied to the event by the deputy governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun, Hon Saka Sholaja, Hon Wasiu Adeshina and some other distinguished guests.
IKD 106.1 FM is joining the league of other radio stations like Tungba FM, LASPOTECH Radio and Ikorodu Oga Radio- Nigeria’s first online community radio that are also domiciled in the community.
