Hon Babajimi Benson, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps has disclosed that, the trio of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Late T.O.S Benson and his late father were the inspiration behind his philanthropic activities.
Benson made this revelation when making a remarks at the distribution of the February ration of the monthly I-Care Food Bank initiative held at his constituency office, along Igbogbo road, Ikorodu on Saturday 24th February, 2018.
He added that, he learnt the art of selfless giving from these three great men, who he said can literally give out their eyes to others in need. H added that the food bank initiative was his own little way of supporting the less privileged people within his Ikorodu federal constituency.
He also enjoined beneficiaries of the February ration to endeavour to get their permanent voters card and ensure they vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress Party in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, to ensure continuity of democracy dividends.
‘Lagos has a population of over 20 Million residents, but only about 1.5 million of us voted in the last 2015 general elections, this is too low. So, I want to enjoin you all to go and register, get your PVC and ensure you vote in 2019’.
Hon Benson also used the occasion to promise the beneficiaries of an empowerment programme for them, if they all go out to vote and get their PVC to increase Lagos bvoting population in the 2019 elections.
He also charged the leadership of APC in Ikorodu to work hard and deliver more votes to the party come 2019, as a platform for negotiating for more political offices for the division in 2019.
Over 300 indigent residents benefitted from the February 2018 food bank of the lawmaker’s charitable initiative. The event was well attended by political bigwigs across Ikorodu division.
