The Lagos State governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming elections, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and Engr Obafemi Hamzat has promised to revisit all abandoned road projects scattered across Ikorodu division.
The duo gave the assurance to residents of the division at the party’s mega governorship rally held at the Ipakodo Ferry terminal, in Ikorodu on Thursday, 31st January, 2019.
Addressing thousands of party faithfuls at the rally Sanwo-Olu pledged that his government, if elected at the forthcoming election would revisit all abandoned road projects in the division. He added that his administration was also committed to the completion of all on-going road projects like the Isawo-Arepo-Road.
In his words of assurance to the people of Ikorodu division, Mr Obafemi Hamzat reminded the people of some road projects he executed across the division, when he served as the Commissioner for Works under the Babatunde Fashola administration. He mentioned the Obafemi Awolowo, Ibeshe and Ebute-Igbogbo roads as some of the landmark projects under his supervision, while assuring that more of such projects will be embarked upon when he is elected as the stare deputy governor.
The Ikorodu division APC mega rally was attended by party chieftains across the state, APC candidates and supporters who adorned various colourful and branded Party and candidates T-shirts. The rally could pass for a music carnival as King of Fuji Music, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal entertained the audience with his sonorous brand of Fuji music. He also gave out free music CDs to some excited party faithfuls and supporters.
A major highpoint of the mega rally was the formal presentation of party flags to candidates of the party across the division. They were Hon Sikiru Adebayo Oshinowo Senatorial candidate, Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon Babajimi Benson House of Reps candidate, Ikorodu federal constituency. Others were Hon SOB Agunbiade and Hon Saka Solaja candidates of the party for Ikorodu Constituency 1 and 2 for Lagos State House of Assembly seats respectively.
Earlier, the State Chairman of APC, Hon Tunde Balogun charged the audience to ensure they vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections, with the assurance that APC government will deliver dividends of democracy to Lagosians.
