Wife of the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Mrs Bolanle Adeshina has charged residents to show love to one another by sharing what they have with their neighbors.
Mrs. Adeshina gave this charge today, during the 2024 Children Christmas Party she hosted in partnership with the local government for children of public schools across the Council Area.
The wife of the Ikorodu Local Government Boss noted that the Christmas season was synonymous with showing love and sharing gifts, as exemplified by Jesus who sacrificed his life on the cross for the salvation and redemption of mankind.
‘Jesus Christ came and died for our sins. And, we also have to show love to ourselves and share whatever we have with those around us who don’t have. Don’t be selfish’, she counseled.
Mrs Adeshina further disclosed that the Annual Children Christmas was a platform for showing love to children from indigent families in the Council areas, by giving them the opportunity to also share in the Christmas experience inspite of their financial limitations.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, her husband and Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina stated that the Council hosts indigent children from public schools in the Council area as a way of giving the children a sense of belonging during the yuletide season.
The Council boss further noted that the event was also meant to make the children, who are the future leaders feel the impact of government.
Adeshina equally used the opportunity to reel out many of his administration’s numerous educational development projects executed in many schools in the area towards giving the children a great future.
The event featured quiz and dancing competition, bouncing castles, face painting among many other fun-filled activities.
Children were also served sumptuous jollof rice with the compliment of ice cream and cake.
The event was graced by the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Lateef Afinnih and Leader of the House,.Hon Adebola Adebowale and other Councilors
Other dignitaries include APC Chairman, Ikorodu Central, Hon Waheed Animashaun Ikorodu Division APC Women Leader, Alh Rasheedat Bello among other APC Chieftains.
