Notable Ikorodu Division Leaders and stakeholders across all spheres have continued to celebrate Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence as he marks his 53rd birthday today.
A retired Permanent Secretary and Former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru has penned a powerful tribute to celebrate the Ikorodu Federal Lawmaker.
Abiru, who is also the Executive Secretary of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL) has described Benson as an example of what a politician should be.
The former Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) equally thanked Benson for making the rehabilitation of the deplorable Olu-odo Road a reality after years of abandonment.
Concluding his moving tribute, the Otunba Fuwagbuyi of Ikorodu referred to Benson as the “Okanlomo of Ikorodu Division” while wishing him a glorious birthday celebration.

One age long apothegm says that the old age of Methuselah has nothing to do with the wisdom of Solomon.
Jimi the celebrator of today, got into politics at a relatively young age and unexpectedly and indeed unlike those before him charted political trajectories that have redefined what true representation in the House should be.
Today, Hon Jimi Benson has occupied our political space with astounding accomplishments through grassroot connection, building the youths, empowering the adults and embarking on unprecedented infrastructural developments transversing the nooks and crannies of lkorodu Division with all of these winning him the enviable moniker “Julius Berger” that has never been given to any politician in this side of Lagos state.
He may not be perfect like all human beings, but his monthly “Apo Anu” food bank for the less privileged which has been on for several years put him in the class of politicians who are empathetic. Very accommodating and in constant touch with his constituents.
Despite his connections to the shakers and movers of the nation, he remains affable and humble. A politician who identifies with the joys and pains of his people. A lot to say about this young, vibrant and energetic politician but let me stop here at this point and wish him a glorious birthday celebration hoping that his best is yet to manifest.
I wish him luck in his future endeavours and pray the good Lord grants him his desires. Both the young and old celebrate him both in his presence and absence.
He is an example of what a politician should be. I thank God for your life and what you have done for lkorodu.
