IKORODU LG CHAIR, LCDA CHAIRMEN, ORIWU SUN, ORIGIN GARDENS, STAKEHOLDERS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR NEWLY FORMED IKORODU COMMUNITY MEDIA PRACTITIONERS (IKOCOMP)

There has been positive responses from Ikorodu Division Community stakeholders towards the formation of the Ikorodu Community Media Practitioners (IKOCOMP). The comments came at the ‘Legendary Night of Honour’ in celebration of the life and times of the late Radio Lagos presenter, Pa Olatunji Owolabi, organised by IKOCOMP.

Doyen of Community Media, Alh Monzor Olowosago who graced the event could not hide his excitement at the formation of the group. He applauded the founding members of IKOCOMP for the intiative and publicly expressed his willingness to join the group and provide necessary supports to make the association thrive.

Similarly, LTV 8 OAP, Princess Sola Kosoko expressed delight at the formation of IKOCOMP in Ikorodu. She commended the initiators of the group, while expressing her readiness to become an active member. Her husband, Prince Abiola Kosoko, the Alashe of Ebute-Iga and CEO Origin Gardens also offered a mutually-rewarding partnership with IKOCOMP.

IKOCOMP, the umbrella association of all community media practitioners in Ikorodu Division was formed around late 2019. The group was formed to serve as a platform for cross-fertilization of ideas, social networking and collaboration for the development of members and Ikorodu community as a whole.

Foundation members of the group are Prince Ganny Awobajo, Publisher, Ikorodu News, Prince Adedamola Aderibigbe, Publisher Starlite Newspapers and Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Founder / CEO, Ikorodu Oga Radio.

Others are Mr Kunle Adelabu, Reporter-in-Chief, Impact Community Newspaper and Shakiru Seidu, Publisher, Mega Expression Magazine, Com. Olalekan Murishiku, Publisher, Community Herald Magazine, Adex Arowojobe, Ikorodu Division Correspondent for News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Femi Ayedun, Camera Man, LTV 8.

Going by the massive supports and positive comments so far received by IKOCOMP, the sky can only be the starting point for the group and its founders.
